Telesplit quickly extracts audio from game music files (VGM/VGZ/NSF/SPC/GBS and more) and is designed for game research and musicians looking to isolate individual channels for sampling, transcribing for covers and remixes. The audio is decoded locally in the browser with threaded wasm and drops the stems into a minimal DAW for live playback and waveform slicing before export.
I built this tool largely around my own process for learning riffs by ear for guitar and bass. Opening a track you know and love and isolating the things like the bass and harmonies can reveal so much about how it was composed and lets you hear the instrument in a way that is otherwise sonically lost in the final mix. The speed control is a time stretch that preserves pitch making it ideal for practice and note detection can help get beginners on the right track and spot a key quickly from the piano view.
The original Telesplit was released in 2018 and has served as a great source of musical inspiration for my friends and bandmates over the years and I hope you find it useful too.
